This course is sanctioned by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) and meets the mandatory qualifications for the California Guard Card. It aims to equip individuals with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to perform their duties responsibly and effectively while adhering to legal and ethical guidelines.
This program is the complete 40-hour BSIS Guard Card course. It comprises all of Parts 1, 2, and 3. Each section must be completed according to the time schedule mandated by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs, Bureau of Security and Investigative Services.
These courses are required and approved by the CA State Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) 32-Hour continuing education (CE) requirement for all first year security guards. These courses are required for all first year CA State security guards after they have already taken the initial 8-hour guard card course.
BSIS requires each officer to complete the Annual Refresher every year after the year they get their guard card in order to keep their training requirements up to date. Each officer must receive 8 hours of training per year, following the first year with 40 hours.
